Have you ever wondered where the majestic, ever circling fish, sharks and turtles in the Two Oceans Aquarium get their daily meal? I&J of course!
I&J has supplied fresh fish to the Two Oceans Aquarium since the popular tourist attraction opened its doors on 13 November 1995.
The Aquarium’s monthly consignment consists of approximately two tons of pilchards, hake, squid and mackerel. It is enjoyed by 3 000 individual animals, ranging from delicate jellyfish to hungry predators, including sharks.
In recognition of I&J’s consistent support, the largest and most popular exhibit at the Two Oceans Aquarium is named the “I&J Predator Exhibit”.
This massive two million litre circular exhibit is home to an exciting array of predatory fish, including ragged-tooth sharks, rays, silver fish like yellowtail, pompano and leervis, a loggerhead turtle and a green turtle.
Feeding time at the I&J Predator Exhibit is the highlight of a visit to the Two Oceans Aquarium.
The Two Oceans Aquarium is one of the must-see attractions for tourists visiting Cape Town, but the facility also provides educational facilities and a comprehensive community outreach program.
I&J is proud to be associated with the Two Oceans Aquarium and is strengthening and extending its relationship with this unique Cape Town attraction.
In 2010, I&J upgraded the children’s play area at the Aquarium’s Shoreline Café. The area, which features a colourful mural, is used for sea-themed birthday parties that include child-friendly guided tours of the Aquarium and lots of party food (including I&J Original Fish Fingers!).
